On Memorial Monday, May 25th, award winning reggae singer Alaine and 2009 Digicel Rising Stars winner Shuga will bring the heat to the second annual Oracabessa Festival slated to be held at Roy Wilkins Park in Queens. Billed as the hottest Caribbean family event in the New York ti-state area for summer 2015, the event will also feature Sean Paul, Chris Martin, Freddy McGregor, Tarrus Riley, Dexta Daps, Josey Wales and the Grace Thrillers featuring Shirley Willis.

Her follow up single ‘Deeper’ was also a hit and was featured on VP Records’ Strictly the Best Volume 36. Other popular singles from the singer include ‘Wine,’ ‘Heavenly,” ‘Jah Jah Cry’, ‘Dreaming of You’ (featuring, Beenie Man), ‘Rise In Love’ , ‘I Love You (featuring Busy Signal) and Sacrifice.

Rising star Mitzie ‘Shuga’ Campbell is no stranger to the music business. She began performing in MoBay soon after graduating from Herbert Morrison Technical High School in 2003. She toured Europe, Gambia, Tanzania and the Caribbean in the summer of 2007 and 2008 with her mentor Tanya Stephens.

In a nail-biting finish, Shuga took home the Digicel Rising Stars crown in 2009. She has since worked with producers Donovan Germain from Penthouse Records and Paul “Computer Paul” Henton of Bootcamp Records. Among the popular songs she has released are “Young Hearts Run Free,” “Give My Heart to Jah, Ebony and more. Earlier this year she delivered a stirring performance at Rebel Salute 2015 held at Richmond Estate in St Ann.
