Neil ‘Stanhype’ Wallace is a DJ & Actor and arguably one of Jamaica’s most talented. His stage name, Stanhype, says it all, as his mixes bring nothing but great energy to events, usually leaving everyone wanting more and anticipating his next occasion.
Stanhype was born in Kingston, Jamaica in 1987. He started in music at a tender age and has since done nothing but keep his audiences ‘Hyped,’ as he is able to spin any genre of music, in any style from any era. He was heavily influenced by his cousin, other family members and the great Robert Nesta Marley (Bob Marley). Additionally, Stanhype was motivated by the different events he has participated in. Events such as the World Reggae Dance Competition which occurred in 2014 and 2015 during Jamaica’s Independence Celebration; various school functions, one of which was a mini tour. Stanhype has also played on local radio stations such as Bess 100 FM and Roots 96.1 FM; and internationally on Vibes FM in the UK.
When he is not behind the turntables, he is in front of the camera as he also takes on different roles in short films and music videos. His acting debut was in the Jamaican movie ‘Kill Dem All An Done.’ He has since played numerous roles in short films produced by Good Vybz Entertainment where he also holds a position as supervisor. DJ Stanhype can also be seen in music videos such as: “Rasta For I” by Duane Stephenson, “Royal Night” by Busy Signal, “Fake Rasta” by Karamanti, “Beg No Ratings” by Chilando, “Life Goes On” by Ricky Teetz, “1000 Forward” by Konshens and that is Just to name a few.
DJ Stanhype dominates both his crafts as he maintains a strong entertaining path.
