From the 9th to the 30th of May 2020, there will be a free exhibition of 700 seven-inch sleeves at NOW Gallery on Greenwich Peninsula, all created for one of these seven tracks:
Aretha Franklin – One Step Ahead
Bob Dylan – Blind Willie McTell
Foo Fighters – This Is A Call
The Internet – Come Over
Koffee – Toast
Miles Davis – Miles Runs The Voodoo Down
Vampire Weekend – Harmony Hall
Each sleeve is a unique interpretation of the accompanying vinyl, lovingly created by one of hundreds of contributing artists. The 700 unique records will be exhibited before being sold on a first come, first served basis on May 31st. However, buyers won’t know who created the artwork or even which song it’s for, until they have parted with their cash.
This year the organizers are supporting Help Refugees, a refugee charity with minimal overheads and maximum impact. In just three years a group of friends have grown it from a social media campaign into a global movement that has reached over a million people in 14 countries.
