The following are the new covid-19 measures that were announced by the Prime Minister of Jamaica, Andrew Holness, while in Parliament on Wednesday, September 15th.
Effective from Saturday, September 18, the curfew hours will be as follows:
- Mondays – Fridays, from 8 pm nightly to 5 am the following morning.
- On Saturdays, the curfew will commence at 6 pm and continue all day Sunday until 5 am on Monday morning.
- Sundays will therefore be no-movement days. The weekday no-movement days will be discontinued.
- National Heroes Day, Monday, October 18, will also be a no-movement day.
We have changed the curfew from 7 pm to 8 pm on Mondays to Fridays to reduce the congestion on public transportation which could be another area of spread.
