Bunji Garlin‘s new song, “Heart Of The People,” highlights the side of carnival that a lot of people may not think about. When we hear about a soca fete or a road march our minds immediately go to dancing, high energy music, fun etc. We hardly give a thought to the people that actually work at these events; the folks whose jobs it is to ensure that the show goes off without an itch. Bunji Garlin‘s “Heart Of The People” will definitely change this!
The track, which is on the White Gold Riddim, is all about the people who rely on such events for the lively hood. Regular men and women who feed their kids, pay their bills etc. because of both big and small soca sessions. Click here to check out “Heart Of The People.”
At the end of 2019, the original queen of soca, Alison Hinds, released a banging tune titled “West Indian.” The song was written and produced by BET Soul Train Award winning producer, Jelani ‘Pops’ Shaw, and it’s on the P.A.G.E. Music label.
Fast forward to November 2020 and we have the official video, which was shot in Ghana. Click here to check it out and remember to like, comment and share.
